Great Ideas For Touring England Or Wales

If you’re hoping to tour a small country like England or Wales this year, then there are plenty of ways to do it. Of course, each of them packs a punch above their weight when it comes to things to see. The landscapes, cultural heritage and amazing architecture will keep you going for months. You’ll need to do some research and strip your tour itinerary down to those places you most want to see. Pick just one or two places per day, so you can really get a flavour of what’s on offer.

There are many ways to travel the UK. Trains, planes and automobiles tend to be the most popular choices. The UK also has some of the best cycle routes on offer too. Other choices include sailing the coastline, narrow boating the canals, and walking. The best UK holidays combine all these different ways, but they may take a little bit of organising!

Another way to see the very best of the country is to take a helicopter tour. Fly over some of the best estates and stadiums. Sam from Pleasure Flights Ltd says “Guided tours are often a good way to get a new perspective on places you are interested in. Visit our website for more information”. An aerial view certainly can offer you an experience of a lifetime.

Of course, heading out on your own with little more than a map is exciting, especially if you are touring somewhere like England. Hire a campervan and pootle along one of the country roads until you find a tea room or pub. Without a doubt, you will see some of the most beautiful landscapes this country has to offer. Head to the coast for some wild surf in Cornwall, or look for dinosaur bones along the south coast.

Canal boats are a very slow-paced, relaxing and romantic way to travel. You can see some great tow paths that wind through old industrial areas, or wildlife-rich fenland. These routes are also the backbone of much of the best cycle routes too. Take your bike with you and head out into the countryside to find those hidden gems like windmills and castle ruins.

What England and Wales both have in common is castles. If you fancy notching up a few towers and great halls, why not plan a route that stops off at one or two? There are plenty to choose from, although many are now little more than piles of rubble. There are also some incredible country estates to visit. The cheapest way to explore these places is to become a National Trust member.

Wherever you head to in the UK, you can be sure of finding some real gems. Whether you love landscapes or architecture, you can’t find anything better than what is home grown in the UK. With a tradition of live music, theatre and the arts, you will also have plenty to do in the evenings during your tour. You might need to wrap up warm and bring a brolly, but you definitely won’t be disappointed!

Home tour: week three

Three weeks in and I’m starting to forget what it felt like living out of a bag at my boyfriends flat, let alone agreeing to buy it from a plan last year.

It seems all my worries disappeared over night, and dealing with Wainhomes is a distant memory!
Home tour: week three | UK Lifestyle BlogI guess technically, it’s been 4 weeks now since my property completed, however, I’ve just been away in Copenhagen and Brighton for the last 7 days, as a surprise for my boyfriends bithday.

We’ve just arrived back in Brighton, and even though it’s only 10am, it’s been a long old day, as we left for the airport this morning at 4am!  Home tour: week three | UK Lifestyle BlogWhilst O naps before driving us back down south, I’ve found my moment to catch up on my emails and blog, since I had a sneaky sleep on the plane!

The grand reveal is finally here. Whilst downstairs started feeling homely even hours before I officially received the keys, the upstairs is chaos! The spare room became the dumping ground as I unpacked each box.

Hope you enjoy the first part to a tour of my new home. In part two, I’ll reveal the guest bedroom, storage cupboards and the loft room – at the moment there isn’t much to see!

June: So far…

It’s been an intense couple of weeks, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. If you’ve been following my posts you’ll see I’ve just bought a lovely new build, 5 minutes from the beach in Cornwall. Although I was lucky enough to just move in, there has been a lot of decorating and plenty of mooching around in the garden enjoying the sunshine.

I’ll be putting up more posts about my house in the next couple of days, but I’ve been so busy putting together the best photographs and writing about what we’ve been doing in the house and garden – it’s been a real treat. Stay tuned, the reveal post is looming!

We will be offline for a week as of Tuesday though, as I’ve booked a surprise holiday for my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday! He’s been talking about wanting to go to Copenhagen for months, but I told him with everything happening in the house, we would have to post-pone. Little did he know, I’ve been scheming!!

We are leaving to stay with his family for a couple of nights in Brighton before I whisk him away! He had absolutely no idea until the weekend, when I just couldn’t wait any longer and told him! He said he kind of guessed anyway, apparently I’m not very good at being subtle!

Once we are back, there will just be one weekend before I bring our Petal home. As you can probably imagine, my site will probably be full of images of the little cutie. She’s absolutely adorable! My other half is already concerned with all the rabbit forums I’m always on, but I’m sure he will understand when he holds her on our return!

Have I lost you yet? We are only a few weeks in.. it appears that buying a house, going on holiday and bringing home a bunny all within a few weeks wasn’t enough money spent – I splashed out on some gorgeous new wheels too! I managed to pick up this steal from my bosses girlfriend, to replace my run down old Saxo. I LOVE my new VW polo!
