The start of our long weekend has begun! My boyfriend and I had tickets to go to Thorpe Park in Chertsey, Surrey last year, but the couple we were going with couldn’t go because our friend had fallen off her house and was in A&E the night before we were due to leave. We decided to call the trip off and go after the park reopened in Spring and combine it with a bit of shopping. We left Cornwall at 6am to arrive at Bristol early as we’d never been to Cribbs Causeway shopping mall – this consisted of indulging in greasy food, shopping (obviously!) and sipping on Boost juice, whom make the yummiest smoothies ever. I used to drink them all the time when I lived in Australia and didn’t even know they had Boost stores in the UK, should have kept my loyalty card.. Grr! Definitely recommend Strawberry Squeeze low-fat smoothie with strawberries, banana, apple juice, no fat milk, TD4 strawberry yoghurt & ice. ♥I bought my first pair of ‘proper’ sunglasses as well. My boyfriend has a pair of tortoise shell wayfarer ray bans, which during the Summer I’d steal from him because I just loved them. I have quite a large bridge, and they just fitted me perfectly. Now the sun is starting to shine, I’ve decided it’s time to invest, my excuse is that I need them for driving but I haven’t even taken my test yet, so I’m not sure how valid that excuse is. I chose the original black wayfarer ray bans.
Cribbs Causeway shopping mall was considerably smaller than we thought it would be, so we did all our shopping before mid-day! A few months ago we bought National Trust memberships because we are hoping to get out on our kayaks and surfboard in the Summer and they offer free parking. Using a little app we found a nice park close by Dyrham Park, a spectacular late 17th-century mansion, garden and deer park. We had a lovely little walk and went inside the mansion which was beautiful, wish we’d taken a picnic!
Next stop.. Slough!
