3 Amazing Hen Do Destinations Where You Can Party Like A Celebrity

In just two and a half weeks, we’ll be jetting off to Marrakech with 11 of my best friends for my hen do!! It’s come around so quickly, and I can’t believe we’re going to be there so soon. My matron of honour, friends and mum have taken on the burden of all the planning, which has been a huge weight off my mind with the run up to the wedding stressing me out. It’s fun being in the dark and not knowing what we’ll be up to!

Planning a hen party isn’t easy but it’s really fun – I planned one for my best friend a couple of years ago. Keeping the bride and all the bridesmaids happy along with ensuring it’s the best experience EVER can be a little intimidating. I found it hard enough planning a hen locally, let alone planning one abroad, so I couldn’t be more thankful that everybody has pulled together to throw me an epic hen. I really have the best friends.

If Marrakech isn’t your jam (no idea why it wouldn’t be! 😂) then there are tons of other destinations that are perfect for a hen holiday. Whether you’re inspired by Kate Moss’s hen party on the Isle of Wight or are after a wild themed hen do in London a little closer to home, it’s time to get planning. So if your friend has a taste for all things fancy, here’s where you can host a celebrity-inspired hen do for your stylish bride-to-be.

Mexico

No time to siesta, it’s her final fiesta! Bustling cities, fantastic weather plus beachfront resorts reverberating with fun and glamour rank Mexico right at the top of celebrity hen party destinations. Mexico is one of the most popular party places in America with a rich culture and art.

The stunning and the beautiful bride-to-be can relax at the country’s stunning beaches and lagoons. You can also plan photo shoots for the bride-to-be around the pyramids of Tulum and Chichen Itza. The notable must-visit attractions are the Mesoamerican ruins, colonial cities, nature reserves and cultural festivals.

Julianne Hough’s hen do was one for the books of Mexico. Hough’s BFF Nina Dobrev, Cindy Crawford, and other friends mad the most of their hen weekend in Cabo San Lucas. The girls went out to the beach for a morning workout session and sunbathed before the party night.

Miami

Who’s ready for the beach? The most populous county of South Florida, Miami is one of the hottest spots to host the ultimate fling before the ring. The beautiful beaches and Cuban-inspired eats make Miami one of the most fantastic hen party destinations.

Apart from the incredible nightlife, Miami enjoys a vibrant and rich culture that is influenced by population from all around the world. Some of the most popular tourist attractions in Miami include the South Beach, Lincoln Road, Bayside Marketplace and Downtown Miami. The Art Deco District in South Beach is famous for its beaches, historical buildings, nightclubs and shopping. It is best for a relaxing, fun-filled hen weekend!

Coleen Rooney took her close pals away for a spot sunbathing in Miami. The bride to be and her hens spent the weekend lounging in the sun and partying in the Florida beach resort.

Las vegas

Las Vegas Hen Party is the definitely the best way to wave goodbye to the single life. Las Vegas does everything bigger and fancier than any other city in the world. For the bride-to-be who wants to blow off the steam in the celebrity style, the Sin City is definitely the entertainment capital of the world.

Las Vegas has an amazing nightlife. The Bellagio’s club, Hyde Bellagio, offers a range of hen dos to make your night memorable. Even if all night clubbing isn’t your thing, you can consider a sophisticated dinner at the Society Café, Encore. It is only in Las Vegas that you can ride a roller coaster at the top of a hotel in the middle of the desert.

The singer, Rihanna organised an epic hen do for her best friend Katy Perry in Las Vegas. She hired Cirque du Soleil, one of LA’s top acts, in keeping with the theme of Katy’s wedding.

Hen it up!

If your best friend is getting married and you can send her off into the married life by planning her hen do with ultimate style. Deciding for a hen do destination where you can party like a celebrity can be tricky. So, if you were confused about where to host the hen do or about how to live up to the expectations of a stylish bride, then you can choose from the above ideas and be rest assured, it’ll turn out to be the best party.

How to Use Plants (and Natural Design Elements) in the Bedroom for Better Sleep

At the end of the day, everyone wants a bedroom that allows them to leave stress outside the door. Your bedroom’s interior design can and should support the main purpose of the room – sleep. One of the simplest ways to enhance your sleep is to incorporate plants and natural design elements into your design.

1. Houseplants

This is, of course, the obvious choice if you’re looking for a quick way to bring nature indoors. Luckily, houseplants come in all shapes and sizes so you’re sure to find a variety you like. However, you have to consider more than looks. Some plants require frequent watering and very specific light conditions while others can survive just about anywhere. Take into consideration how much maintenance you’re willing to do and your climate. After that, it’s about finding a plant you love.

If you’re not sure where to start your search, NASA conducted a study to find plants that remove biotoxins from indoor air. Their list included the bamboo palm, Chinese evergreen, English ivy, and Gerbera daisy to name a few. Plants on this list can remove biotoxins like formaldehyde, benzene, and trichloroethylene. Fresh, clean air contributes to deeper sleep and helps you feel more alert the next day. The spider plant and snake plant, both of which made NASA’s list, release oxygen at night, providing clean air when you need it most.

2. Artwork and Display Pieces

If houseplants aren’t your thing, you definitely have other options. The goal is to create the same feeling you get when taking a walk outside. Nature walks have been shown to decrease rumination, a habit of negative thinking, and signs of depression. Hospitals incorporate green spaces and use nature-themed artwork because they shorten recovery times. Who doesn’t want that in their bedroom?

Leaves, trees, mountains, and landscapes all have the power to bring your heart rate and blood pressure down for better sleep.

3. Nature-Themed Furniture and Accent Pieces

While nature-themed furniture and accents may sound a little too log cabin to you, that’s not what we’re talking about here. Organic shapes and motifs on throw pillows, curtains, and/or side chairs have a natural feel that harkens back to the outdoors too.

One or two small accent pieces with a branch or shell pattern don’t scream nature but rather provide a subtle reminder of down to earth places. Themes and pieces sourced from local artisans or that use local vegetation as inspiration can really make it feel like you’ve integrated with your natural environment.

4. Hard Textures

Most of the time when you think ‘natural elements’ you think of wood, leaves, and sky. But, there are other natural elements that can add interest and depth such as stone and brick. The texture of stone and brick, especially when locally quarried, bring a Zen-like feel to the bedroom.

Stone may seem a little harsh for the bedroom but when used as the base for a lamp or display piece, it can provide excellent contrast with the softness of a mattress covered with cotton or linen bedding (remember we’re going natural here). The two can balance one another out so you have the comfort of cotton and rugged strength of stone and both feel amazing.

When incorporating natural elements, look for pieces that speak to you. A few thoughtfully chosen purchases put nature in your life where and when you need it.

The Daily Grind: 5 simple ways to improve your health and thrive at work

If you’re reading this, I hope you have a job you love – a job that makes you excited about getting out of bed every morning and fuels your passion and dreams. However, even if none of that is true, you don’t have to contend with simply trudging to work, feeling down in the dumps.

There are quite a few simple measures for revitalising your workplace mood – and the knock-on effects can include better productivity, which will clearly go down well with the boss.

Mentally, stay in the here and now

Do you find yourself often merely “going through the motions” at work, not really paying close attention to the task at hand? This can too easily happen if you don’t love your job – and, perhaps, have an eye on soon “moving on” to take up that coveted “dream job”.

However, that job won’t just appear out of nowhere, mindbodygreen.com emphasises. It’s through producing your best work right here, right now that you can realise magical results.

Seek to learn new ways of improving your work

Are you currently falling short? Heed Inc.‘s revelation that thriving workers “look for opportunities to learn new things and acquire new skills, and access information to help them get better at what they do.” By following suit, you could bring into effect a “self-perpetuating” growth journey.

For this reason, you should welcome feedback when you receive it, whether from the boss or fellow employees. Taking account of feedback can help prevent distractions from your organisational goals.

Are you an employer? Lead by example

Every successful business has its own Winston Churchill, a leader who can inspire their recruits not merely to work towards success, but even work their way out of corporate quicksand, so to say.

There is certainly solid evidence of how beneficial such leadership can prove to a business. One recent study looking at various industries found that leaders high in self-reported thriving were, by their employees, deemed 17% more effective than leaders comparatively lacking in this measure.

Strike a good work-life balance

How is your personal life going? Whether you are currently on cloud nine because of a new, super-exciting romance, your favourite TV show is back on the box, you are getting better at surfing, or some other reason, those high levels of happiness could push you towards workplace success, too.

Research has confirmed that people who fare well in their personal lives appear to accumulate “resources” that they can pour into their work activities – a real win-win-win situation!

Do you smoke? Consider switching to vaping

I’ll resist launching into a lecture about how that cigarette habit could be wrecking your health. However, keep in mind that, as the Daily Mail reports, e-cigarettes are much safer than tobacco, according to experts. Furthermore, there isn’t a strict legal ban on e-cigarette use in offices.

While employers can still ban vaping in workplaces at their discretion, you could stock up on products like Innokin Proton Plex Kit if your own office is vape-friendly.
