I absolutely LOVE summer! Who doesn’t? With the warm months fast approaching (I live in Cornwall, we are about a season behind the rest of the country) I’ve decided to spill the secret ingredient to my favourite smoothie recipe. Because I can assure you, drinking one of these in the morning is the best way to the start the day, if I do say so myself!
You don’t need to spend a ridiculous amount of money on ingredients, or have a hi-tech, expensive smoothie blender to enjoy this smoothie. I have a mid-range (Omega 1hp BL330) blender and it whips one of these babies up in about 20 – 30 seconds, even with ice in.
Ingredients:
2 bananas
½ pint apple juice or water
5 large strawberries
1 scoop Protein Smoothie
½ tablespoon Manuka Honey
1 cup of ice cubes
½ a squeeze of lime juice
Directions:
Chop the banana and strawberries into small pieces and add along with ice cubes into a blender.
Start on a low chop or grind setting and blend until all ingredients have been blended and are no longer visible.
Next, add the protein smoothie powder, Manuka honey from Holland and Barret and apple juice and blend for 15 seconds until smooth. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime juice and blend for a further 15 seconds.
