Dealing with eczema isn’t easy for anyone, but for us gals it’s even worse. We love using scented soaps and nice smelling moisturisers, but sadly we can’t because of how they affect our skin. The other downside to eczema is that is can also react to certain types of makeup – it can be a real nightmare.

To help you deal with eczema, here are a few tips that you should find useful:

Know what triggers your eczema

Everyone who suffers from eczema has different triggers, which is why it’s important that you know what your triggers are. From dust to animals, everyone has different eczema triggers, so you need to work out what your triggers are.

Every Time that your eczema flares up, make a note of what you have been doing, what products you have used, etc. Keep a diary for a month and use it to try to work out what it is that triggers your eczema flare-ups. Once you know what your triggers are you will find it much easier to manage your eczema and keep it under control.

Find a treatment that works

When it comes to treatments for eczema, we are all different. What works for one person may not work for another, which is why it takes trial and error to find the right treatment. However, that being said, make sure to steer clear of doctor prescribed steroid creams and ointments as these aren’t good for your skin.

If possible, opt for an eczema cream that is as natural as possible. Many people swear by using aloe vera as applying it directly to the affected area can have some amazing results. Make sure that before trying any creams, that you do lots of research on them, to ensure that they are suitable for you.

Be careful of makeup

When it comes to choosing makeup, for eczema sufferers it’s important to be careful. Many brands of makeup can cause eczema flare ups on the face, which can be very sore. So make sure that if you swap makeup brands that you always stick to natural products as chemicals are what cause flare-ups.

There are various makeup brands on the market that are natural, such as Bare Minerals, which is ideal for eczema sufferers. Just make sure that before trying a new brand of makeup – natural or not, that you read up on it first.

Eczema is nasty, there are no two ways about it. It’s sore, itchy and worst of all doesn’t look very nice. However, if you suffer from eczema, there are plenty of ways that you can keep your it under control.
