Feeling heavy and tired? You don’t have enough energy to go through the day? Then you must stop right now and make a list with all the food in the house. Why? Well, because most of the time, a tired body is the result of bad nutrition.
So what is there in your fridge? Meat, sweets and alcohol? Throw them all away in this instant! The winter is almost over and this is the perfect moment for a detoxification diet!
Before starting a detox diet, you must keep some things in mind. First of all, try giving up on junk food gradually. By doing this, your body will be able to adapt to the new diet easier, without having a shock. Then, make sure that you don’t have any medical conditions that will put you in danger. In the end, go out and buy several vitamins – all green and natural.
Here are some general guidelines available for the whole period of detoxification:
Drink water– everybody says to drink as much as possible, but the quantity of water one needs really depends on his/her weight. There are a lot of online calculators, so use one to find the right amount for you.
Eliminate junk food for good– not fats, no sugar, low amounts of salt, no wheat, and no alcohol.
Don’t eat 3 hours before bed time– you want the body to relax during night, and not to work on digestion!
The detox diet
There are a lot of diets out there, including those of 12 or 24 days. These consist in eating different things every day of the detox period. For example, one day is only for fruits, one only for vegetables and so on. But truly, the body needs small amounts of different food on the same day.

Salads– you can mix any vegetables you like. Here is an idea: lettuce, purple cabbage and bell pepper, seasoned with sesame seeds, salt and cayenne pepper.
Soups– any kind you prefer as long as it is 100% natural and without meat. You could try pumpkin soup with onion, cauliflower and olive oil.
Green tea and juices again.
Vegetable grill– just any vegetables you can put on a grill. Also, you can mix them with rice and a tiny piece of grilled chicken breast.
Vegetable burgers– yes, this is possible. Think about it – grilled sweet potatoes instead of bread, blended beans, corn, cauliflower and olive oil instead of meat, lettuce and slices of tomato.
Green tea and juices are not recommended in the evening– they can induce insomnia due to the high level of energy.
Follow the detoxification diet for at least one week. Also, don’t hesitate to keep the good habits even after this period.
